Statistics

Alas, there's no lovely fabric to go with this post as I am in the middle of a statistics paper at university right now. I'm doing more geology and geography papers too, but this one...whew, it's doing my head in :-(

Argh! Statistics feels like a foreign language.  I often get to the end of the lecture and feel like the lecturer stopped speaking English about 20 minutes earlier.  Correlation coefficients, regression theory, and now conditional probability.  Its madness!  Plus, (no pun intended) I've been a bit naughty and have been feeding my stress with chocolate. Not great for the diabetes. But the thought of munching my way through a carrot as I study just doesn't have the same appeal or the same effect!

I guess I am just not used to having to work this hard to understand something.  Oh, roll on holidays; I'd much rather be fondling some fabric, sighing over colours, appreciating pattern and dreaming of ways to cut, place, stitch, quilt and conjure.  Unfortunately, 'quilting' is not a prerequisite paper for my degree.

However, they say the best learning is that which we do outside our comfort zone. And, as much as I want to wallow and wail about my predicament, there's lots of great online and video assistance, and the tutors are lovely too. So, I'm just going to have to put on my big girl's panties and get on with it.

Wish me luck!
